What started out as a little bit of fun quickly became the favourite of many die hard ale fans and has become permanent. Probably best described stylistically as a Californian IPA, this beer has all the rich malt and fruit flavours of a Barley Wine combined with the hoppy crispness of a Pale Ale. And as best said by one of its biggest fans, "Hoppiness = Happiness."

Keg, one-third pint at Moor Brewery Tap. Filmy layer, solid lacing. Hazy orange-gold body. Pine and ripe citrus on the nose. Fresh fruity flavours, well hopped, moments of pine, citrus, wheat, and subdued malty sweetness. Dry bitter finish. Mouth filling. Nice with fine drinkability. (Attending East Bristol Brewery Trail 29.04.2017).

330 ml can from Beergonzo, bb Jan 18. Thanks to Werckmeister.
Amber, hazy body, with a big, fluffy, lacing, off-white head.
Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, lime, strone fruits, some pine, some mint, some lemon candy.
Tastes quite similar, with some more biscuit.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes bitter, dry, zesty, citric, piney, a bit yeasty, subtly sweet fruity.
Tasty. Straight and dry, with lovely, bright citric notes, supported by some pine and just enough biscuity malt body. Not the most complex IPA, but very well balanced and fresh to drink.

Noe honning/maltsødme i avslutningen.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar (Moor Night), Stavanger. Golden colour, huge white head. Aroma of piney and grassy hops, also some grapefruit. Smooth mouthfeel. Piney and grapefruity hops in the flavour too, a tad more dry than sweet. Reasonably bitter finish.

Dark golden/light orange, slightest haziness. Firm and healty head, nice retention and lacing. Aroma is grapefruit and piney/resinous. Taste has just the slightest crackery malt base, citric notes (again, mainly grapefruit) and a good dose of resinous/piney bitterness. Overall obviously on the bitter side, averagely so for the style. Medium body, average carbonation. Overall enjoable; it’s highly drinkable and clean/flawless, but very much unremarkable.
