Light smoke character with caramel and fruity, spicy hops - this smoked rye ale exudes balance and for those that enjoy smoked beer, it's a treat that comes around once a year.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Deep orange colour, large off-white head. Aroma of smoked malts, smoked meat and smoked fish. Slightly dry flavour, with a certain fruitiness that helps the drinkability a lot. Also distinct notes of smoked malts, moderate hops. I might not be the world's biggest fan of smoked beers in general, but this is one I could happily drink again - and again.

Sample from 33 cl can. Hazy, amber golden colour with a thin white head. Sweet smoked aroma with citrus fruits, grasses and caramel malts. Rye. Taste is light bitter. Medium body with a creamy texture and an average carbonation. Finishes slightly drying with caramel malts, smoke and a toasted note. Nice.

Draft tasting glass during Moor Tap Takeover @ Gollem. Dark brown amber with a creamy off-white head. Nose is lovely Bamberg smoked malt, mellow smoked tea with low sweetness, faint metallic note. Taste is mellow faintly grainy Bamberg smoked malt, smoked tea, low brown sugar, grainy, light dryness bread. Low faint herbal note. Lovely Bamberg smoked malt at first but it mellow out a bit over time, I could have definitely used more. I could have more Bamberg malt but I do get where they were going with this one & that they wanted something more accessible. Still very nice, drinks very easily.
