Pours deep mahogany into a snifter. Off-white conglomerate head slowly recedes to nothing. Vanilla and dark caramel aromas. Thin with sweet caramel upfront turning thick in vanilla middle. Lasting slightly cloying bourbon finish.

Appearance: Pours dark mahogany with a nice fluffy off-white head and lots of lacing
Aroma: Citrus, dark fruits and oak
Taste: Silky mouthfeel. Bourbon, vanilla, dark fruits with some hop bitterness, some hot alcohols in the finish.
This is very nice Barley Wine, Uinta has stepped it up with this latest series. It will be interesting to try this again after some aging.

Appearance: Pours a dark red, almost brown with a nice off white head and some lacing in the glass
Aroma: Bourbon, dark fruits, toasted malts
Taste: Bourbon, oak, dark fruits & hops in the finish
This is a very good Barley wine. Very enjoyable and drinkable. I’m looking forward to picking a few bottles up when they hit the liquor stores.

From tap at Toronado, Barley Wine Fest 2010. Pours clear and deep amber to maghoni brown with a lacing tan head. Aroma is dark spiced and roasted malty with a dark toffeeish note. Bitter, overripe fruity and light spiced flavoured. Bone dry and bitter finish.

Bomber from Footbalm, sahred by Odeed! Thanks Eric and Jake!! Bottled in 2008. Nose of bourbon, vanilla, prunes, and woody oak. Clear cherry brown with a small lightly lacing beige head. Tastes of bourbon, vanilla, dark fruit, and tobacco musty note that seems like a cross between a barleywine and an old ale. Must be the two years in the barrel.

Big thanks to the guy that brought this to the Pgh RB gathering 12/09. Not a fan of barley wines and I rate by how much I like it so ignore my numbers if you love this style. Dark Iced tea or rootbeer color. Big strong sweet typical barley wine aromas. Sweet sherry bourbon and barley wine flavors. Too much personality for this lager lover’s immature taste buds. Big slow long sweet hot alky finish, wew. Oily palate that hangs around for a while. Overall; large and in charge. Typical big beer.

750 ml bottle-pours a tan ring for a head and dark amber color. Aroma is (hot) bourbon, wood, dark fruit, some earthy hops. Taste is (hot) bourbon, wood, dark fruit, some earthy/resin hops. Sipping. Would like to try this again in 1 or 2 years. Thanks Rich for sharing.*** 110512- 3.6

courtesy of wasatch pours hazy deep orange, thin off-white head. aroma is grainy, caramel malts, chocolate, bourbon. flavor, lots of bourbon, not hindering the overall beer. Some wood/oak, dark fruits; raisins, bourbon is right where it should be, adds a nice warming finish coupled with some caramel and chocolate.

Courtesy of douglas88. Once waxed bomber pours clear deep garnet with thin tan head. The aroma has big oak notes moving into bourbon and sweetness along with some boozy heat. I don’t pick up much, if any, of the base barleywine here. The taste is pretty smooth with a brief pulse of sweet chewy malts and some cherry and plum notes. It then becomes very oak with full-on bourbon and booze drying things out into the finish. Lots and lots of barrel notes going on here squashing out most of the beer-y barleywine flavors.
