Our Köstritzer cellar beer is an unfiltered, bottom-fermented beer specialty for real connoisseurs. Full-bodied and with natural turbidity, the original taste of the old brewing tradition was preserved with this beer. The best raw materials such as a special roasted malt, special malts and selected hops give the beer specialty from Köstritzer not only its unique aroma, but also its characteristic look.

Draft at Hamerica's, Bologna, Italy. Pours light amber, fairly crisp, with moderate carbonation. Aroma is malty, strawberries and raspberry. Body is a little light, with a bit of stickiness and abundant carbonation (but the beer had been drafted to avoid foam). Taste is relatively malty and sweet, but with decent bitterness in the finish, which is relatively long.

50 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Trinkgut Kleve. Clear amber with a white head. Malty aroma with some caramel. Bitter taste. Just a standard keller, decent but boring.

Bottle. Clear amber color with eggshell head. Aroma is bready, caramel, herbal hops, nutty, but also quite dusty. Taste is dusty malts, a bit papery, earthy and nutty again as well as bready and with some sticky caramel sweetness. Silky mouthfeel. Too sweet for me.

On tap at The Draft House Tower Bridge. Clear mid brown colour lasting cream head. Some biscuit flavour. Rather a good malty lager i thought. Decent. Not too cold. Ok.

500ml bottle: BBD 17th Oct 17. Bought in a REWE store in Monchengladbach and cooled on my hotel window ledge before opening on 2nd May 17. Clean and clear light Amber body, off-White head that tried to hang around. Caramel and toffee apple aromas and flavours give this a sweet malty molasses feel from start to finish. Simple brew with what seems ’a caramel syrup’ added to give it colour and sweetness. Liked it though!

On tap @ Verklicker, Langeoog. Golden orange with a beautiful head. Aroma of malts. Taste is sweet, grainy, malty, fruity and only slightly hoppy. A hint of yeast. Nice mouthfeel. Medium carbonation. Easily sessionable but why drink a Kellerbier that’s not from Franconia?

Korrekt kis amber Vienna láger, csak úgy itatja magát, lágy és selymes. Finom.
