Bottle shared by Caesar. Beers are from our holiday from last August so a bit old but still decent I hope. Nice clear dark amber color, full sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, lightly caramelized sugars, sweetish, caramel. Medium body and soft carbonation. Very well done, very nice.

Staffelberg-Bräu Loffelder Dunkel, Flasche von Hopfen & Malz im Wedding. - Dunkles Kupferrotbraun, klar. - In der Nase tiefes, etwas sprödes dunkles Malz mit Landkaffee, Mokka und Brotkruste, zart rauchig. - Antrunk weich dunkelmalzig mit tiefer dunkler Malzigkeit, Kakao, elegant moosiger Herbe, feiner Zitrusfrucht und zarter Karamelnote. Milder rezent, vollmundig, weich. Im Abgang fein malzbitter mit dezenter herbaler Hopfenherbe. - Hintergründig dunkelmalzig, eigenwillig gehopft, weich und vollmundig: ein ausgezeichnetes Dunkles. Orange brown color, small frothy head. Caramel aroma cabbage and barnyard smell. Sweet flavor with caramel, chichorei and a velvety edge. A bit skunky aftertaste. Not entirely succeeded dunkel. Pours brown from the bottle. Frothy off white head that fades. Aroma is caramel, tea, mineral water. Taste is mostly sweet with artificial cherry notes that come up at the finish. A metallic tinge lingers afterwards. Body is medium and a somewhat prickly carbonation accentuates the cherry pop flavor. Overall pretty nasty stuff. Even the less discriminating drinkers in the family wanted no part of it.
