Der legendäre Maxi-Bock ist dieses Jahr wieder so gut gelungen, dass selbst das äußerst kritische Brauer-Team um die Rhaner Braumeister Andreas Wagner und Fabian Loibl bereits beim ersten Schluck ins Schwärmen gerieten. Andreas Wagner: "Manche Starkbiere kommen etwas pappig und schwer daher, aber unser Maxi-Bock tanzt wieder anregend leicht über den Gaumen. Wer ihn mit Ruhe und Muße trinkt, kann mit jedem Schluck neue Nuancen entdecken." Zu verdanken sind sie der Verwendung edler Hopfensorten sowie der über achtwöchigen Reifung in den tiefsten Lagerkellern vom Rhanerbräu.

Clear nut brown color, small off-white head. Nose is bready and caramelly. Medium to full-bodied. Bready maltyness, sweet caramel in the flavor. Low bitterness, more on malt side plus it is quite sweet bock, almost coca cola on drugs.

bottle from Bierzwerg. Brown colour, mid-sized beige head. Chocolate and caramel, some dark honey and earthy hops - nice dark Bock.

Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass dark brown, nice head. Starts intense malty, fine dry notes, not too roasty. Hints of liquorice. Finish with some woody-earthy notes. Interesting beer!

(bottle, 33cl) Clear, slightly reddish brown colour with a short and tanned foamy head. Dark malty aroma with loads of caramel, smells like liquid Bavarian Blockmalz bonbons, molasses and a whiff of chocolate liqueur. Sweet flavour, medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Toasty malty caramel-laden taste with lighter leafy notes, molasses and chocolate; sweet malt-accented finish with chocolate and a vaguely vinous fruitiness. A tad sweet but still very nice. 16.I.14

Aroma is rather malty with some chocolate and hay. Flavour is rather malty with lots of chocolate, and hints of hay. Very nice, could be a doppelbock as well.

Bottle from mein-biershop.de. Cola brown color with medium long lasting beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, syrup, alcohol. Taste, roasted malt, caramel, some berries, coffee, hints of dark chocolate. Chocolatey finish with very light bitterness in background.
