Das Vollbier der Brauerei Grasser gehört zu Recht zu den Klassikern in der Bamberger Region. Es verkörpert ein perfektes fränkisches Lagerbier. Klar filtriert begrüßt es im Glas mit seiner satten korngelben Farbe. Darüber steht ein fester, feinporiger, leicht beiger Schaum, feine Perlen finden zielstrebig ihren Weg nach oben ins weiche Schaumbett.
In der Nase findet sich das Getreide wieder, es duftet nach einem frisch abgeernteten fränkischen Kornfeld. Dahinter verstecken sich Aromen von Toffee und süßem Teig. Dieses Potpourri weckt die Lust auf den ersten Schluck, der die Zunge mit einem vollen, weichen und runden Geschmack umschmeichelt. Er wird abgelöst vom Eindruck einer Scheibe Vollkornbrot mit einer dicken Schicht Wildblütenhonig. Am Ende bleibt eine kurze, feine Bittere, die die Vorfreude auf den nächsten Schluck weckt.

Bottle at Café Abseits, Bamberg. Golden brown colour quite malty but with good bitter finish. Lovely to be honest. It’s good. Malty then hoppy on finish. Good toasty malt, got hop and it’s just stupid drinkable.

Bottle @ hotel room Munich, picked up at Landbierparadies Nuremberg. Clear dark golden appearance with a white head. Toasty, pale malty, straw, herbal aroma. Chewy, a touch toasty malty, light honey, straw, boring flavor.

Clear light amber beer, creamy white head, unstable, little adhesive. Aroma: ripe fruits, banana, sweet sugary. MF: ok carbon, light body. Taste: sweet start, banana, some chocolaty malts. Aftertaste: cocoa powder, dark chocolate, some spices, bit herbal, grains. In all very faint and unimpressive.
