Last year we filled a Willett bourbon barrel with our LADS base and gave it the LADS adjunct schedule of shredded raw coconut, marshmallow, Madagascar vanilla, Mostra Ghost Bear espresso blend coffee, and a touch of lactose. Pouring a thick jet black, aromas of fudge, coconut macaroon, vanilla frosting, barrel-derived marshmallow, and marshmallows soaked in bourbon waft up before cohesive and deliberate flavors of brownie batter, more bourbon-soaked marshmallows, coconut caramel swirl and balanced coffee. The integrated flavors are smooth and luxurious offering a velvet like Rolo candy finish with a touch of oak. This could very well be our best batch yet.
