Bottle shared on Level 42, 09/06/2016. Opaque black coloured pour with a lasting frothy beige head. Aroma is big tangy pine needle, citrus American c hop, dry roast. Flavour is composed of of light roast, semi sweet grains, pine, citrus hop. Palate is semi sweet, moderate carbonation, tangy hop resin. Slightly numbing on the tongue. Solid black ipa.

Can thanks to Fergoos at level 42. It pours darkest brown - black with a medium beige head. The aroma is fresh, bright orange citrus, burnt pine, cocoa, Parma violets and roasted malts. The taste is smooth, mellow bitterness, peppery spice, charred pine, citrus peel, cocoa, touch of soap, florals and rocky road with lingering bitter roasted finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Rather flavoursome stuff. Nice.

Can shared in London - many thanks to Fergus. Pours clear brown with a creamy, tan head. Burnt pine in he nose, touches of cocoa, orange peel. Medium sweet flavor, pithy, with juicy citrus fruits, some peach, melon, tangerine, a little cocoa roast. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Nicely balanced finish with mellow ash, more citrus fruits, bitter rind, light earth, cocoa. Solid stuff.

Can at Level 42, thanks to Fergus, 09/06/16. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a decent khaki swirl. Nose is light charr, red berry nip, earthy hop, pine light. Taste comprises pine needle, charr, red grapefruit, tropicana, straw, light roast, red berry linger. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with earthy hop bitterness. Decent CDA.

Appearance- very dark brown, almost black. Half a finger’s worth of beige head which hangs around. Light brown tinge at the base. Aroma- dark malts, slight roastiness, caramel, alongside tropical fruit, pineapple and orange juice. Taste- chocolate, coffee, hops, pineapple, orange peel, bitter slightly roasty finish. Everything is layered together quite nicely. Mouthfeel a little on the thin side. Pretty good.

Can at The Tap Room Cliftonville. Black beer lasting tan head. Some lime aroma chocolate some blackcurrant. Not as roast not as heavy as a bipa. Blackcurrant lime chocolate. Light mouth feel. Its decent but still not my big thing.

Bottle from the Bottleshop, Canterbury consumed at home Easter Sunday 26th March 2016 in the company of Isobel, Dom and Georgia. Black in colour, hoppy but a touch thin. Pretty tasty beer but hadn’t noted the lager element to this which I think didn’t let this shine as well as a usual BIPA would. Ok but could be a bit more bitter. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3
