Lune 2012 has a nice light copper color, it is clear and has no head. It releases balanced scents of honey and vanilla, with hints of nuts. When sipped, slightly acidic notes are counter-balanced by subtle winy nuances, accompanied by touches of almond and cooked fruit. The finish emphasizes the warmth and pleasant character of this beer.

A 0.5 l bottle that poured a hazy amber body with no head and only a little bit of carbonation. Aroma of malted barley, grain, sweet fruits, wood, also grape skin. Flavor was fruity, white grape skin now dominated, oak, sugar, caramel to cooked fruit, earthy notes. Maybe touch of vanilla, too. Medium bodied, even with a watery mouthfeel since these grapes balanced out the sweetness of a barley wine and made it extremely easy and drinkable on palate. Moderately long finish, balanced, too, with light vinous sourness being the longest survivor. Interesting and memorable, although really a weird brew. I guess many would simply hate it, but I’m fine with it.

500mL bottle, pours a dirty orange with a tiny head. Aroma brings out notes of caramel, a little marshmallow, light vinous notes and vanilla. Flavour is complex, with loads of vanilla upfront, marshmallow, faint white wine, and caramel. Wonderfully integrated, warming and not boozy at all. Rather thin on the palate, with a beautifully vanilla-y and lightly tart finish. Excellent.

Amber with some haze...no head. Doesn’t look great. The aroma doesn’t bring a lot, but on the palate it’s amazing. Very distinctive. Honey, vanilla, golden raisins...all those pale sweet notes. Late harvest wine. Light barrel. The malts have been completely transformed. Some alcohol heat at the back of the throat, but you don’t really taste it on the palate.

(Bottle) Copper/amber colour, flat with no head. Fruity, vinous nose with notes of white wine, dried fruit, raisins, brown sugar, oak wood and hints of toast. Fruity, vinous taste with dried fruit, raisins, figs, oak wood, green apples, burnt sugar, sweet Sauternes wine and a vinous finish with a warming alcohol glow. Almost full body, fairly sweet. Well made and tasty barley wine with the white wine barrels giving it an elegant touch. Quite impressive and excellent.

Bottle from Systembolaget, bought in December 2012. A bit hazy light brownish/amber with no head. Aroma of dried fruit, toffee, apples and dessert wine. Similar taste. Sweet and with no carbonation. Vinous and with warming alcohol. Smooth and a nice one to sip.

10 cl sample @ Baladin Open, Rome as "Lune 2010". Aroma has ripe fruits, peaches and hints of hay. Flavour has bitter booze notes, grapefruit and citrus. Also white wine. Possibly infected. Gets better when it warms up though.
