Deep amber-garnet body is topped by a full beige head that shows moderate-to-high retention. Good clarity.
Very fruity nose, as expected from both specialty malts and hops. Oranges, ruby red grapefruit, strawberries and apples all in some form or another, with lightly spicy rye notes and moderate iced tea-like character as well. No alcohol or flaw.
Pretty straightforward in the mouth, with a very large lemony-sweet fruit element that is pleasant and helps to lighten the caramel and ruby red grapefruit sweetness. Some lightly scratchy specialty malt notes at points, with peppery, somewhat loose carbonation, but otherwise enough malt texture to balance. Fine, if rather forgettable. As thornecb points out, would be nice if this was a little more MBC and a little less Heavy Seas....

Norm’s Beer and Wine, Vienna Virginia bottle: pours amber with a nice, creamy off-white head. Aroma is flowers, citruses, and caramel malt. Taste is not really bitter. Flowery and citrusy throughout. It was good, but for something made in part by Maine Beer Company, I was a bit disappointed.

Caramel nose, some diacetyl, grass, strawberries. Tea colored, medium yellow head, some retention. Singular marigold flavor. Medium body, easy carbonation. One note, which is unusual for such an intrisically multi-faceted style. A little disappointing product of two good brewers.

Bottle. Aroma is a Megaton of caramel. Hints of Simcoe Pine, light purple. Flavor shows the extensive Pine with a Megaton of caramel. The body is medium with a sweet caramel finish. Do you find a theme Here? Answer is yes: a lot of caramel with a resin finish.

reddish brown, Very bready, spice, herbs, simcoe. Mmmmm, nice mouthfeel, really filling, the rye comes though so well. has a hoppy amber ale flavor, juicy finish with a lot of pine cone.

Pours deep ruby-tinged mahogany into a shaker. Off-white head with excellent retention recedes leaving spot lacing. Dark caramel and grapefruit aromas. Thick yet dry with dark caramel and citrus upfront turning to bitter earth in the medium length finish. Leans more to a Heavy Seas than a Maine Beer to me...
