Vitamin Sea may only be 18 months old, but our relationship with Brewer/Owner Dino Funari can be traced back much further than that. A prominent South Shore homebrewer for years, we greatly anticipated his arrival in the greater Boston craft beer scene.
For our first collaboration together, we chose the style that our respective breweries are most widely known for, New England-style DIPA. Layering Citra and Rakau on top of a fluffy and plush malt base, Channel Charge also features a label artwork collab between our artists, Kevin Cimo and Dean McKeever.
Pouring a pale straw yellow with an opaque, glowing haze, Channel Charge wastes no time in presenting it's bountiful, hop-saturated aroma. Big-time orange sorbet notes make an initial wave, with layers of punchy peach juice, candied summer melon, and sweet pineapple following closely behind. Bold, yet balanced in its approach, with just enough bitter bite, Channel Charge represents the best of both breweries' approach to pushing hoppy beers further.
STYLE: Double IPA
ABV: 8%
HOPS: Citra, Rakau
MALT: American 2 Row Barley, Flaked Oats, Malted Oats, White Wheat, C-15

Pours a very hazy (almost muddy), light banana smoothie yellow, with minimal head. Aroma is very fruity, with just a slight touch of hop-burn. Citrus and tropical notes abound. The flavor is just a bit bitter upfront, followed by citrus and tropical fruit elements. Lightly sweet. Soft, full mouthfeel. Drop the hop-burn and you've got a contender...
