Using freeze distillation, we unlock the hop’s unbridled aroma.
Just in time for the 2016 bock season, our newest version of the G’froren’s IPA is now available. This time, we dry-hopped it with a special strain created by a regional hop grower: The Pfaffenhofer MMF hop.
In the nose you’ll get amazing aromas of mangoes and other tropical fruits. From there, your palate is hit with the bombastic compliment of malt body and oily hop aroma. The base beer for G’froren’s is a generously-hopped golden bock fermented with ale yeast, thus transforming this bock into an IPA.
After five weeks of lagering, this beer undergoes a freeze distillation process where the water is extracted. From there, the newly created ice bock is dry hopped, meaning it is combined with fresh hops in a lager tank and left for weeks to develop and absorb the wonderful hop aromas.

Bottle. Hazy orange color with white head. Aroma is sweet toffee, slightly rotten fruits, prunes, hoppy. Taste is intense caramel and toffee, piney, coconut, prunes. Medium carbonation. A bit too intense, but not bad.
