33cl can from Gulating ølutsalg, Trondheim. Pours dark mahogany coloured with a fair, beige head. Farily hoppy aroma with mild citrus and pine, some roasty notes and hints of licorice and coffee. Moderate sweet with pleasant mixture of dark and hoppy flavours and a balanced bitterness. Feels a bit thin, but very easy to drink and rather enjoyable.

Appearance- dark, mahogany-brown, a fizzy beige head. Aroma- hops, dark fruit, hint of blackcurrant. Taste- fruity hops, dark malt, coffee traces, more fruit towards the finish.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 21B - Black IPA). Can 33 cl - Batch unknown (bottled on 12/10/16 - BBF 12/10/17). AROMA: medium-low hop aroma with grapefruit notes. low malt background with a faint roastiness. APPEARANCE: very dark brown color with ruby body against light. clear. medium light brown head with good retention. TASTE: medium hop flavor similar to the aroma (citric). almost clean malt background with a very faint toasty note. medium bitterness with a dry finish. PALATE: medium-light body with medium carbonation. OVERALL: a very nice black IPA with the dark malts on the bottom of the scale.

Almost black color with a light beige head, good retention. Aroma is light roasty with some hints of hoppy notes. Flavor is light bittery, some coffee. Watery final with light bitterness. Could be better...

Huge thanks to Palme for that one! Can looks really good. Beer in the glass deep black, small head. Starts fine malty, roasty, not too dry. Light lemon hints. More and more hoppy notes, not too intense, light metallically. Finish well balanced, but a bit washy. Not bad.

Can. A close to black beer with a creamy light beige head. Cute lacing. The aroma is mostly on the hoppy side, with pine cones, grapefruit and a touch of peach and orange. A faint roasted malt scent in the back. Not much malt impact on the flavor either, it’s mostly hops, and a decent bitterness. Wouldn’t mind more of it though. Some sweetness as a backdrop, leaving a light sticky feeling in the palate. Medium body and a nice carbonation. Lasting hop dominated finish. Tasteful, easy drinkable but a bit gentle I think. 170120

330ml can. Black with a thin tan head. Aroma: hoppy, floral, tropical, mild toasty malts, hint of chocolate. Taste: mildly bitter tropical floral hops, light roasted malt, hint of coffee. Light-medium body and carbonation, quite easy drinking.
