500ml bottle thanks to Kolschtrinker. Pours a hazed amber with a medium well-appointed white head. Subdued weiss notes on the nose, pillowy on the palate with a distant caramel sweetness, distant weiss yeast.. it's a pleasant sipper but there are more striking examples out there.

Süffiger, deutlich bananig hefiger Antrunk. Würzig alkoholisch, das Aroma von reifer Banane nimmt noch zu. Vollmundig, minimal herb, stark hefig. Weiche, süß, langer hellmalziger und weiter bananiger Abgang. 9/11/10/11/13/11

0.5 l bottle from local 'trinkgut', best before February 2020. Hazy, amber with a medium large, foamy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, gently yeasty-spicy and slightly fruity aroma of banana, clove, some vanilla and a touch of dried apricot. Quite sweet, malty, rather yeasty-spicy and slightly fruity taste of banana, clove, some honey, a touch of vanilla and traces of dried apricot, followed by a short, rather yeasty-spicy, just slightly bitter finish. Medium to full body, slightly creamy and quite effervescent mouthfeel, average to lively carbonation. Solid Weizenbock, pretty saturating but still quite quaffable, overall rather simple but also very pleasant.

"Bischofshof Altvater", Flasche (50 cl) per Post von Mein-Biershop.de. - Trüb orangebraun; reichlich lockerer Schaum. - In der Nase deutet wenig auf einen Weizenbock hin: Nelke, Klee, milde Zitrusfrucht und grüne Banane über fein süßlichem Weizenmalz, wie bei einem Hefeweizen gewöhnlicher Stärke. - Antrunk dann doch bocktypisch breit weizenmalzig-kandissüß mit ein wenig Karamel, gekonnt abgerundet mit feinem Orangenöl und milden Kräutern. Mild rezent, weich, sämig. Im Abgang delikate zitrusfruchtige Noten, kaum bitter aber sehr rund. - Außerordentlich guter Weizenbock, leicht, frisch und elegant, mit gut kaschiertem Alkohol.

500ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, amber colour with average, thick, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Sweet-ish, wheaty, yeasty fruity and minimally yeasty spicy aroma, notes of banana, baked banana, a touch of honey and clove, spicy overtones with a touch of mustard seed. Taste is sweet, wheaty, notes of honey, baked banana, a touch of pear, minimally dry counterweight with a leafy touch; implied, slightly peppery, yeasty spicy finish remains quite anaemic overall; creamy texture, smooth and soft, minimally sticky palate. A tad too sweet and tacky, slightly monotonous due to the fact that all the more interesting subtleties seem to be ensnared in gluey honey and banana mash.

500ml Bottle - Hazy golden with a foamy head. Banana, lemon and cloves in the aroma. Banana, lemon meringue, spice and some hints of caramel and toffee in the taste. Nothing outstanding but a nicely balanced weizen bock with plenty of character.
