A wholesome best bitter designed to be true to this iconic beer style, with only a few respectful tweaks. Expect biscuit and caramel flavours from our malts, balanced by English hops with grassy, herbal and citrus notes and refreshing bitterness. Everything is lifted by just a touch of Cascade in the dry-hop.

(Cask at Southampton Arms, London, 16 Nov 2023) Pale amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty nose with notes of apricots, bread and earthy hops. Malty taste with caramel, apricots, bread, dried fruit and a balanced earthy bitterness in the finish. Light body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and well balanced bitter. Nice one.

Can from Beer 52 – drank at home. Pours a golden amber with a small white head. There’s malts and biscuits in the aroma, plus some traces of berry fruits. Sweet and quite juicy in the mouth, but with some underlying bitterness. Flavour has floral hops, caramel, oranges and raisins plus traces of malts. Finish is quite bitter. This is reasonable, but seems to lack a certain something.

16 oz nitro can poured hard. Fun style to run into in my local, so I've been looking forward to this one. Clean and shiny golden amber appearance after the nitro silk settles. Cream foam head that lasts. Bready, biscuit grains on aroma and flavor, with a soft spicy note on the flavor side. A somewhat dry and dusty finish, but this remains refreshing. Late palate caramel notes. Cool but mild hop content. Long lingering bran and bready grains. Tasty.
