Ein untergäriges Bier mit einem vollmundig-herzhaften, leicht malzigen Geschmack. Vor allem aber bleibt ein deutlicher Rauchgeschmack (ein Hauch von Schinken!) am Gaumen. Wer’s nicht kennt, beim ersten Schluck vielleicht etwas befremdlich. Ausdauer ist gefragt! Das zweite Bier schmeckt besser als das erste und das Dritte besser als das Zweite. Und schließlich werden sie zum Rauchbierliebhaber! Ein Rauchbier kommt übrigends dem Geschmack des Bieres, wie es schon vor Jahrhunderten gebraut wurde, am nächsten. Früher wurde das feuchte, keimende Grünmalz über offenem Buchenholzfeuer gedarrt. Dabei entwickelte sich ein mehr oder weniger deutliches Raucharoma. Paßt sehr gut zu Speck, geräuchertem Fisch oder zur genussvollen Jause allgemein.

BB 09/2015. amber hazy color, small off-white head. smells smoky, grainy, milky, light bacon. medium body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes lightly smoky, some bread, grains, a bit milky, light flour. finishes with light sweetness, caramel, light smoke. decent beer.

Amber, clear body, with a big, stable, frothy, lacing, light beige/yellowish head.
Aroma of bacon, caramel, bread, some sweet fruits.
Tastes of caramel, bread, bacon, dark berries, some tea, some zesty hops.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes smooth, moderate bitter, smokey, fruity, sweet, hoppy.
Nice one. Very solid, quaffable, with the smoke very well integrated, not too dominant. Overall nothing special, but another well balanced, good style example from this brewery.
