Bottle from Spar, Ostend. Hazy brown, stable, foamy, tan head. Aroma of caramel, pistachio, pear syrup, date, mocha, liqueur, clove, dried banana. Taste has (very) sweet date, fig & pear packed together in a (hard) caramelly & biscuity body, some bitter mocha in the middle along herbal & nutty notes. Herbal hoppy finish, lingering caramel, dried fruits & warming liqueur alcohol. Medium body, slick texture, average carbonation. Sweet Dubbel, okay, but technically flawless to me; paired with meatballs in a classic 'Sirop de Liège' sauce so that's perfect.

33cl bottle from Spar Oostende. F: medium, tanned, good retention. C: dark brown, hazy. A: malty, caramel, brown sugar, spicy, leaves, banana. T: medium malty base, caramel, bit toffee even, leaves, banana, spicy touch, medium carbonation, bit more on the sweet side yet ok, enjoyed.
