Imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels
The economy fluctuates. The latest fads inevitably decline. Black Tuesday stands the test of time. Our bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout brings a seemingly roaring combination of flavors - vanilla, caramel, dark chocolate and singed oak, to name a few - into a decadent, sophisticated fusion that’s fit to claim its own day of the week. And it only comes around once a year.

Side by side with 2010. Massive difference, this is clearly more a traditional black Tuesday as we know it, with some age on it. Big, boozy bourbon, and pretty earthy from the age. Tiniest oxidation is noticable. Yummy, but lost to 2010.

Sample at Bruery Provisions. Pours inky black with a medium light brown head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Aroma of bourbon, coffee and dark fruit. Rich and velvety body with flavors of oaky bourbon, dark chocolate, raisins and vanilla. The finish is sweet molasses and malt and leaves a lingering chocolate cherry liqueur aftertaste. Very good all around.
