Nordic Lean in collaboration with Stillwater Artisanal is a Purple IPA that’s been 100% fermented with Brettanomyces c. and dry-hopped with Pacific Gem and Centennial. How did we purp it? A combination of blueberry, blackberry and black currant juices. It’s tangy, hoppy, juicy and funky. This unique beer is beautiful, nice and a little fucked up, just like us.

Draft. The worlds first Purple IPA - PIPA as it will be known in a decade. A purplish beer with a pinkish head. The aroma has notes of berries, among them black currant, spices, hops, and malt. The flavor is acidic with notes of brettanomyces, sour berries, and spicy hops, leading to a tart finish. Hmm - different, but not pale, not an IPA, more like a sour/wild. Bottomline it is interesting.

Dark violet color with a light pink head, creamy with mild retention and some lacework. Aroma is hoppy, with some dark berries. Flavor with a decent bitterness, fruity notes, some citrus and red fruits as well. Final with bittery notes, some citrus.

On tap at På Kornet, Stavanger. Pours cloudy reddish to purple. Aroma of tropical fruits, some sulfur, burnt rubber, citrus; fruity. Taste is a bit tart. Some sourness and bitterness, but not as bitter as one would expect from an IPA.

Ok skum.
