A refreshing golden beer with hints of caramel and a mouthwatering honey-like sweetness. The perfect Yorkshire nectar.

Bottle from Co-op, Hebden Bridge. Bought this thinking it was a new brewery to me, but no - it's just one that's changed its name. Grrrrr. Anyway, it's slightly hazy amber with a negligible white head. It's far too fizzy. Wheaty malt up front, then a touch of cardboard before a citrus hint in the mildly dry finish. It's a low-grade supermarket bitter.

Bottle from British Local Craft. This has a gorgeous aroma – bur I’m not sure I can describe it. There’s hops, malt and yeast in there along with a little chocolate. Pours a golden ornage with a small whitehead. Plenty of bitterness in the mouth, on top of a sweet malty base . Bitter oranges and biscuits intensify as time goes by. Finish is bitter and fruity. More of a traditional bitter than a golden ale. Doesn’t quite match up to the aroma, but still very good.

Bottle from Morrisons and drunk at home. Clear gold colour lasting white head. Light yeast aroma. Some biscuit malt. Grassy hop. A touch of peach. A little boring maybe. Nothing wrong with it, but could be a little bit more exciting. Some hop sting on the finsh.

500ml bottle:BB 10th Jan 2018. Drank at a mates house on 11th July 2017. Name gives away the colour of the beer somewhat: white head on top. Malty molasses in both the nose and taste, yet slightly fruity also, caramel being the main flavour and aroma: light fruit twist towards the end of each sip with a mildly bitter aftertaste. Better than I expected to be honest.

Medium offwhite head. Clear pale amber body with light carbonation. Light toffee and vanilla aroma with strawy earthy notes. Sweet-dryish orangey spicy taste with floral notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel. Dryish floral orangey aftertaste with perfumy spicy notes. Very nice, highly drinkable, and full of flavour. (0.5l bottle, from Clarkes, Whitby.)
