Southern Pecan Nut Brown Ale is the first beer in the world, to our knowledge, made with whole roasted pecans. The pecans are used just like grain and provide a nutty characteristic and a delightful depth to the flavor profile. This beer is very lightly hopped to allow the malty, caramel, and nutty flavors shine through. The color is dark mahogany. Southern Pecan won a Bronze Medal in the 2006 World Beer Cup in the Specialty Beer category.

Bottle from Old Chicago. Caramel colored and clear, slight head and medium bodied. Not a hint of pecan. Little aroma, sweet malt taste and slight hops bitterness at the end. Not all that great.

Trying this with a cold, soooooo. But with one nostril I detect a mild nutty aroma. Flavor is like a watered down brown. I only get a hint of pecan.

12 fl. oz. bottle for 3,29 Euro at Craft Beer Konto Hannover. Clear dark red brown with a small head. Malty on the nose, little bit hay and hop. Taste is malty, little bit toasted, little bit hop, little bit citrus, hints of some floweresque hop in the background. Medicore.

355ml bottle. Crystal clear, brown-ish amber colour with small to average, thick, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Minimally nuttily, caramel malty aroma. Taste is slightly sweet, nuttily malty, some caramel, a touch of toffee; smooth, soft and silk palate.

Sampled from a 0.33l bottle @ Haandfest 2015. This is a near clear looking one, deep amber or even a little rusty in the glass. Lacing just off white head, bubbly also. Sweet nose, caramellish. A little red Berry infused. Straws and birch. It's a bit sweet in the taste also, but surprisingly well tasting. Red berries, caramel and toffee apples. Soft on the bubbles this one. Yeah, huge thanks for the sample Mr Cunningham. 30.05.2015

Bottled. Ambery brown colour with a mediumsized beige creamy head. Aroma is sweet malts, nutty, some floral and mild grassy notes. Flavour is quite similar, in a quite dry wooden notes.
