Southern Pecan Nut Brown Ale is the first beer in the world, to our knowledge, made with whole roasted pecans. The pecans are used just like grain and provide a nutty characteristic and a delightful depth to the flavor profile. This beer is very lightly hopped to allow the malty, caramel, and nutty flavors shine through. The color is dark mahogany. Southern Pecan won a Bronze Medal in the 2006 World Beer Cup in the Specialty Beer category.

Mississippi tick thanks to nmann08. 12oz bottle pours a clear, watery, brown amber with some clumpy white head. Nose has some brown sugar, root beer, bread crust, but artificially sweet. Flavor is the same, frankly. Artificially sweet, brown sugar, root beer, root veg. Sweet finish. No thanks.

Smell of syrup. Dark bronze colour, small beige head. Aroma of sugar, roasted malt, caramel, nuts (pecan?). Sweet. Slightly oily. Lively carbon, but diminishes quickly.

Clear, bubbly mahogany/wooden brown with a short tan head. Aroma is sugar and bread. Taste is sweet caramel, bread, nuts. Molasses/syrup taste, but light.... Tasty and a little different.... Just wish it had a heavier body.

355m bottle thanks to Lewis. Pours a dark honey colour with a decent white head. The nose is honey and eventually the nuttiness comes through. The taste has pecan pie. The palate is light to medium in body and as expected the finish is a little on the sweet side. A decent example of a brown ale but not excited enough to want another, should it be available.

Bottle. Translucent light brown body, medium dense cream head. Toasty nose, bready with fresh dough and toasted pecans; woody acidity. Body light and toasty and nutty. Biting. Refreshing with nice creamy pecan notes.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. From the easter bif. Pours a light brown with a half finger off-white head. Aroma of roasty nuts and caramel. Taste is light sweet. Roasty nuts and a good dose of dark caramel and toffee. Medium bodied with a slightly sticky texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, great. Pretty unique brew.

Draft @ Contact Sports Bar in The Palace. Drank the shit out of this the last five days... itโ€™s pretty well available everywhere in the area. Pours a lighter brown color with a finger of tan head. Nice lacing. Hard to get a good feel for the aroma with it being served ice cold. Still, a little bit sweet and lightly toasty. Taste of toasted caramel malts, nuts, toffee, and caramel. Good. Very drinkable; I can see why itโ€™s a local favorite.

12 oz. bottle from Total Wine, Naples FL. My Boddingtons glass shows a medium brown color. Low carbonation with very little head that had no retention. I can get the nutty aroma after the brew warms up. However, I canโ€™t smell or taste an actual pecan. Light caramel and toasted malts. Overall rather sessionable brown ale.
