Bottle. Perfumed flowery berry nose. Milky pink to red, low offwhite head. Medium fill, fizzy foamy. Flowery, citric/lime, berry, a bit frozen margaritha, nice citrus elderberry retronasal.

Bottle. Unclear red-ruby color with pinkish head. Aroma is cherry skin, a touch almonds, leather. Taste is cherry skin, funk, yoghurt, fresh, lime. Lip-smacking and dry, mineraly bite. Great stuff, not *too* complex, but just very tasty. Reminiscent of Frozen Margaritas.

Towering, explosive flamingo head, fast receding over deep, hazy, red beer. Perfumey sour cherry nose, young green leaves, nuts, horseblanket, saddlesoap. Pure sour cherry, perfumey and tart alike. Fruitskins and kernels. Again leather-like hints, crabapples. Tart, lipsmacking acidity, light dry-out effect, acidthinning. Head is awesome. Another Lambiek Fabriek pearl - fantastic. (And I love the double double entendre in the name!)

Hapu, kirsine, kaneeline, mineraalne, rauane, hape pole väga tugev, aga siiski tuntav, nats nisu ka. Päris hea, aga lou pepe kriekist jääb ikka kaugele...

New fruit lambic by this very active young lambic brewer, an ‘oude kriek’ with Schaarbeekse cherries, the most prized of all sour cherry varieties to make cherry lambic with – so this one was more or less predictable, I guess. Gusher – but probably opened too soon or at too high temperature so I will forgive this. Medium thick, pale pink, moussy, slowly dissipating head on a cloudy dark ruby red beer with wine red core, a beautiful sight to the cherry lambic lover for sure. Aroma of lots and lots of cherry flesh and cherry juice including some of that swimming pool effect (chlorine) typically associated with ‘oude kriek’, beetroot, green garden weeds, cooked plum, stale lemon juice, wet grass, red fruit yoghurt, dusty attic, redcurrant, something old-rubbery in the background. Very crisp, tart onset, lots of lovely cherry juiciness – as if biting in a sour cherry; sharpish acidic lemony edges, high effervescence as in sparkling wine; soft bready core deeply drenched in full, fleshy, juicy ‘Schaarbeekse cherriness’ as with the best of Schaarbeekse ‘oude kriek’ examples, lots of redcurrant, sour apple and red plum notes too, with this lemony acidity carrying onwards – to a softly woody, tannic cherry skin-like finish, which nevertheless remains completely drenched in this ‘cooked red fruit’ effect from the Schaarbeekse cherries. Yoghurt-, grass- and tree leaf-like accents further add colour in the finishing stages. Full, fleshy, vinous and a bit ‘wild’: this is very much a Schaarbeekse kriek indeed, darker, thicker and fluffier than the ordinary Jart-Elle. Lovely, with weird green plant accents here and there – which may go away with some ageing, for better or worse.
