This very special beer specialty is named after its origin, because our brewery is located directly at the foot of the famous pilgrimage site "Maria Ehrenberg" in the Rhön region.

The ''Pilgerstoff'' matures in our cold beer cellars into a full-bodied and perfectly rounded masterpiece for at least 8 weeks. It presents itself in a clear dark amber colour, strong roasted malt flavors and a velvety soft foam crown.

0,5l bottle, best before 07.08.15. The beer starts smooth-dusty-mouldy. The mainpart is a bit grainy, worthy, somehow unround but with hints of malty sweetness very easy to drink. Only hints of bitterness in the aftertaste.

0,5 l bottle, pseudo historic label. Pours out surprisingly in an amber color, fine creamy head. Low malt and grass on the nose. Starts more malty, later with grain and toast. Low smooth bitterness in the aftertaste. More than expected.

Bottle looks very simple but okay. Beer in the glass zippy, nice head. Starts malty, light spicy, a bit metallically. Dry background. Finish more spicy. Could be more intense, but still okay.
