Stone Enjoy By 10.31.23 Hazy IPA is here to haunt your beer fridge with a hazy look and a heavy helping of Citra, Mosaic, Amarillo and Nelson Sauvin hops. But the refreshing dryness and huge tropical fruit flavors in this double IPA are nothing to be afraid of. The only thing that would truly be terrifying is missing out on this frighteningly fresh creation…

This 12 oz can came from Mr. T's, my local beer joint. Severely out of date but the price was decent for a single. In my Buffalo Bayou tulip glass I determine a gold-orange liquid with a limited cover of almost white foam. The smell appears to be all right, pineapple, yellow fruit and a hint of mango. The taste is decent without being inspiring. Grapefruit, pineapple, grain, kiwi, a significant hops presence and the accompanying bitterness. I'm getting a good sensation of fullness. Yes, decent and improving as I drink.

I didn't realize this was a year old when I picked it up at the store earlier this week, whoops. Holds up relatively well though. It's much more of a malt bomb than anything else at this point

Tangerine, biscuit malt, pine, and earthy grapefruit peel aroma. Hazy golden yellow with giant white head. Very sweet tangerine, biscuit malt, and strong bitter grapefruit peel and pine flavor. Good body.

I found this 12 oz can at the local beer shop two weeks ago, want to taste it before the deadline Stone has imposed. One would think at 9.4% ABV that this would be an imperial Northeast style IPA but the label says twice it is basic IPA. I am going with my New Belgium globe glass this evening, probably my most-used beer glass. After the pour I see an opaque yellow-orange body with a slowly declining top of snow white foam. The scent follows the standard NE style playbook, rather juicy and tropical but there is an indication of hops fortunately. Now time for the taste. Melon, oranges, a significant amount of hops with accompanying bitterness and a bit of turpentine. A full sensation, a positive in my opinion. Decent.

So, I'm missing the end date by 7 days. Shouldn't be an issue. I have a 12 oz can that I obtained at the local craft beer shop some weeks back. The most recent in a line of these Enjoy By beers sampled in times past. This evening the glass of choice is my New Belgium globe glass and it gets the pour. I see the mostly traditional color for the style, gold-orange and this time topped with a stupendous top of near-white foam. The smell is both tropical and citrus. But it is the drink I am here for. A bit of orange juice, grapefruit, grain, malt, a nice amount of hoppy bitterness. Less a hazy IPA than a mixing of NE and WC styles. I find it tasty.

I'm missing the enjoy by date by a month and a half. Not to worry, it is Stone. A significantly over-priced 12 oz can at the newest craft beer store. Oh well, I would not have bought a pack. Flipping the tab and pouring into a Belgian glass, that's how I roll tonight. I see a semi-hazy, medium yellow liquid with a persistent, pure white top of small bubbles. A decent nose, there is juice and pine and a touch of dankness. Is that possible? The taste is quite credible for the style. Grapefruit, varnish, pine needles, some orange of course and crackers. Very crisp, rather dry. Nice sensation in the mouth, quite full, I credit the high abv. Pretty good, all in all.

07.04.21 version acquired at I really don’t recall. Up front in saying IPAs in general are far from my favorite style but curiously my ratings of them seem in line with or higher than all other raters. With that said I’m happy to taste this evening. Using my Buffalo Bayou snifter for the pour, I see a stupendous orange at the top/gold at the bottom liquid with significant sediment along with a respectable head-going-to-skim of white foam. A pleasant nose, fruit and grass. Likewise with the taste, I get subdued pineapple and orange, malt and hops and a nice WC bitterness. I like the sweet and the bitter going together. This is a fine brew, perhaps the best NE style I’ve had.

Decent for an IPA. Not really a full hazy as it has body, more like a good hazy ought to be but rarely is. And not really that hazy, while we're on the topic. Anyway, grapefruit and tangerine peel. Slightly hazy golden orange pour with good head. Bitter finish with a little booze, lingering grapefruit. Can.
