IPA, or India Pale Ale was born in England in the 18th century when there was a need to send beer to British soldiers in India. The beer that was produced in Britain in those days would not have survived a six-month journey from Britain to India, so a special strong, heavily hopped beer was created. A. Le Coq IPA is a pale ale with strong hoppy flavour that has been brewed with Chinook, Amarillo, Cascade and Citra hops that add bitterness to the beer.

Can 0,5ltr: Hazy orange/golden colored brew with an sweet and dry bitter taste with some hints of caramel and citrus. Tries to be an American IPA its more an English IPA. Bought this at an Russian Shop, Rotterdam, Hoogstraat. Bought it under it alias Cesu IPA an Latvian brewer.

50cl can. A clear golden beer with a mid-sized off-white head. Aroma of pine, bitter hops, pale malt. Taste of intense bitter hops, pine, pale malt, nothing special.

500ml can. Barely clear, orangey golden colour with average to huge, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, white head. Citrusy hoppy, minimally strawy and leafy aroma, hints of mandarine and lemon, a cautious, soapy touch of urinal cake. Taste is grassy and citrusy hoppy, slightly biscuity malty with subtle sweetness, soapy hints of lemon, dish liquid. Marks the negative pole on the IPA bar magnet.

Strong citrus nose. Clear pale amber colour, good creamy off-white head, half-way lasting, heavy sticky lacing. Aroma, pale malts, grapefruit, lemon. Taste medium sweet and mild bitter, malty, bubble-gum, fruit candy, orange. Fruity sweetbitter finish, orange peel, light spicy notes. Medium body, oily to sticky texture, average carbonation. Too sweet for an IPA and a somewhat artificial feel, okay.
