IPA, or India Pale Ale was born in England in the 18th century when there was a need to send beer to British soldiers in India. The beer that was produced in Britain in those days would not have survived a six-month journey from Britain to India, so a special strong, heavily hopped beer was created. A. Le Coq IPA is a pale ale with strong hoppy flavour that has been brewed with Chinook, Amarillo, Cascade and Citra hops that add bitterness to the beer.

From me mum purchased in Prague: pours copper with white head. Aroma is bread, hints of fruitiness and some flowers... does not smell as bad as some people here are asserting. Taste is lightly bitter. Malty. Like a very generic and forgettable IPA. Meh.

500ml can, thanks to visionthing. Clear golden body, remaining white head, spotty lacing. Perfumed fruity taste, hints of pears and peaches. Modest taste of pine, dough, and peaches, noticeable metallic backbone. Fruity endnotes, mid-sweet. Soft on the swallow. Beyond par for the style (Shared with djoeye and Finn at a rating session in Tromsø. 10.12.2016).

[9/24/16] Can sample at hotel room tasting in Woerden. Thanks everyone for sharing! Golden. Aroma of "green" hop pellets. Flavor has a bit of sweetish malt, and bitter "green" hops. Medium-bodied. OK.

Can, long lasting bubbly stiff merangue like head, clear deep gold color, aroma of pine, citrus and soap, citrus shrubby flavor with some maltiness in the back and a coarse soapy bitterness. Not bad.
