Cask at Hops, Crewe. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a small foamy tan head and good lacing. Aroma is a bit subdued, but thereโs roasted malts, chocolate and honeycomb if you search hard enough. In the mouth it fluctuates between sweet and bitter being smooth with a creamy texture. Flavour is mainly roasted malts and chocolate with traces of liquorice and biscuits. A little fruitiness in the finish. This is decent โ decidedly moreish.

Gravicask, half-pint, shared with Finn. Pitch black in the glass, bare naked surface, fragile lacing. Smoothly roasted aromas with chocolate malts. Tasty with chocolate and a bite of liquorice. Roasted bitter ending. Nice with the cheese board at the festival.
