Tap. Purple color with small white head. Aroma is blueberries, vineous, barrel, spicy berry skin. Taste is total lacto barrel blueberry awesomeness - a real explosion. Mouth-puckering refreshing finish, Medium carbonation. Almanac does not disappoint!

Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a semi-dark ruddy burnt amber to brown sort of color with a slight purple hue-ish looking streams along the sides of the glass. Thin layer of white foamy head quickly dissipated and left no lacing.
The aroma starts off with the blueberries flowing into some citrusy to lemony bitter hops. Strong vinous but still great balance for the most part.
The flavor wants to balance between the blueberries and vinous qualities but definitely leans towards a vinous sourness. Sly semi-sour to sweet blueberry aftertaste leading into a mainly sour dry vinous finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Mild carbonation feels good and allows the sour harshness to take a good hold on my tongue.
Overall, really nice sour ale. I might have a sly bias towards blueberries but I’ll blame myself for having it this time of year. Would love to bang again in the Summer, not in 2 degree weather outside.

Sample at Local Option. Hazy purple-red color with a medium pinkish-white head that evaporates steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Blueberries, yeast and malt in the nose. Medium body with flavors of semi-tart blueberry, vinous oak, yeast and doughy malt. The finish is moderately tart with a blueberry aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Pours mahogany into a tulip. White head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Lactic blueberry aromas. Sharp with tart lactic upfront turning to blueberry skins in the lasting finish.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Cloudy red color. Mild lemon aroma. Strong lemon flavor, acid, dry, with just a touch if berries, but also some acetic acid.
Aggressive, refreshing, clean, but nothing special.
