Tap at the brewpub. Pours brassy gold with a white head. Aroma of light roast malt and hop. Med body, nearly. Flavor is light roast malt, with a touch of citrus. Finishes lightly bitter, and towards dry. Drinks ok.
Earlier Rating: 7/12/2007 Total Score: 3.2
Aroma of floral hop backed by caramel malt. Full amber color; head was filmed upon delivery. Medium bodied; moderate carbonation. Starts with malt, and it is firmly there. A little hop, arguably with citrus, comes along. The finish is only moderately bitter, not quite dry. The bitter does tend to build in the mouth though.

Draught, small stable creamy bubbly head, hazy palish orange colour, aroma of lemon grass, orange marmalade and lemon, flavour of citrus, peach and apricot with a malty backbone, noticable but not too strong mellow bitterness. A worthy classic brew.

On tap at Capones Hayden. Pours clear old gold with a thick cream-colored head with great retention and lace. Aroma is pine, pineapple. Taste is bittersweet, grainy. Medium bodied, somewhat low carbonation. Nice beer. I need to compare it to the bottle now.

04/02/2014 Mad for Beer (tap). Ambrata scarica, limpida, schiuma bianca media, poco persistente.

The appearance has a golden yellow colored body with a slight copper color. It has a decent white head that didn’t last too long.
The smell has some bitter hops and some caramel and some light malts.
The taste is bitter and sweet at different times.
The palate is about a light to medium and comes across fairly sessionable.
Overall, well what can I say, its a sessionable pale ale to have with food.

The draft of choice when there is nothing else to choose from. Easy, simple session ale.
