Cask at Hops, Crewe Pours a dark reddish brown with a small beige head. Dark fruits in the nose, along with a hint of coffee. Fruit again in the mouth, with raspberries and raisins, cemented on a bed of malt loaf. Finish is sweet and fruity. This is a nice beer.

This is... alright? Doesn't do anything amazing but if you're wanting a malty, chocolatey porter then you've come to the right place. A little sugary fruit, light hop to it. It's fine, just not spectacular.

Cask at Archibald Simpsons. It pours pretty much black with a small, bubbly beige head. The aroma is oily, hard roasted malts, umami, liquorice, burnt coffee grounds and cacao nibs. The taste is hard roasted malt, burnt action, earthy, coffee grounds, umami, liquorice, peppery spice, nip of acidity and charcoal with a drying, roasted finish. Lighter end of medium body and soft / light carbonation. Very savoury, almost needs a touch of sweetness. Fair.

Cask half-pint in The Cock Hotel, Wellington Telford on 8th Mar 2017. Smooth tanned head on a very dark body. Roasted, toasted maltiness with chocolate and vanilla like aromas and flavours, fairly dry and bitter finish: ideal last beer of the session.
