Berliner Weisse Sour Ale - A Collaboration with Norden Aquavit

This is a Mist like no other. We are honored share this collaboration with Robyn at Norden Aquavit - small batch, locally sourced distillery, located in Chelsea, MI. Norden Aquavit utilizes an organic corn spirit base that's distilled with 10 organic and wild-crafted (foraged) botanicals, including caraway, clementine, staghorn sumac and clary sage. Each year Robyn makes a Limited Snaps Edition of aquavit that's infused with strawberries and rhubarb from small Michigan farms to raise money for The Pink Fund, a non-profit breast cancer organization. We pureed the strawberries and rhubarb that were infused with aquavit and added them to the pre and post fermentation process of our Berliner Weisse sour Mist beer. The resulting beer smells and tastes like no other. Bursting aromas filled with botanical notes of caraway, juniper, clementine and clary sage... the tartness from the rhubarb greets the initial taste, which gives way to more botanicals, before finishing with the subtle sweetness of local Michigan strawberries slathered on fresh bread.
