Our American Pale Ale is based on the American West Coast pale ale. This style makes use of American hops to give it its unique, upfront aromas. Refreshing and full flavoured, yet light in alcohol and body, Devil’s Peak American Pale Ale is intended to be enjoyed as a session ale.

Aroma: Pronounced, fruity hop aroma. Citrus and other tropical fruits. Balanced by medium levels of roasted malt aroma.

Appearance: Light brown in colour. Very clear with persistent, white head.

Flavour: Hop forward for the style. Light malt presence with low bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Light body with low to medium levels of carbonation. Smooth and crisp with medium-dry finish.

Overall Impression: A hop forward pale ale with low alcohol – perfect for long sessions.

330ml bottle. Opalescent, yellow-ish, golden colour with average, frothy, slowly osteoporosing, minimally lacing, snow white head. Piney and citrusy fruity, minimally grassy, hoppy aroma, minimally biscuity, pale malty background, hints of lemon peel, a touch of pineapple. Taste is citrusy fruity, piney and minimally grassy hoppy, minimally biscuity, pale malty basis with little residual sweetness, hints of lemon, lemon peel, a touch of pineapple. Minimally oily, watery texture, dry palate, fine and soft carbonation. Clean, light, refreshing, a bit simple - OK.

340ml bottle from the Beer52 box for June. A bright amber pour with a ring of white head; grassy aroma; light malty body with some citrus; and a pleasant grassy bitterness with some wood sap to finish. Not exciting, but refreshing and well made.
