For this beer, we took a different approach and aged an Imperial Stout in raspberry mead barrels we were given to by our friends at Superstition Meadery of Prescott, Arizona. Originally holding one of their most prized meads, Framboesa Atando, for two years, these French oak barrels lent a pungent raspberry jam aroma and flavor to the beer while the new-ish barrel balanced out the sweetness with assertive tannic characters.

Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 8.5
MBCC. Black with a light brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, raspberries, chocolate and cacao. Flavor is very sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish with warming alcohol. Oily. 231021
