For this beer, we took a different approach and aged an Imperial Stout in raspberry mead barrels we were given to by our friends at Superstition Meadery of Prescott, Arizona. Originally holding one of their most prized meads, Framboesa Atando, for two years, these French oak barrels lent a pungent raspberry jam aroma and flavor to the beer while the new-ish barrel balanced out the sweetness with assertive tannic characters.

Black with light brown head - Roasted malt aroma - Roasted malt body with chocolate and berry flavours with some wood - Dark malt with chocolate and berries goes into the finih wiht some wood and alcohol heat - This was good

Appearance: Dark brown colour with a tan head.

Tap@MBCC 2021, Copenhagen - black with a brown head. Dark roasted and sweet malty, chocolate, caramel, full bodied, sweet raspberry mead induced sweetness sweeping in, sweet malty close.

ABV: 11.7%. Clear dark brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, dark malt, sweet malt, raspberry, light earthy, wood - barrel. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a long duration, raspberry, dark malt, chocolate, honey sweet, roasted malt, jam, light earthy, barrel - wood. Body is medium to medium full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is warming. [20211023]
