Klosterbrauerei Andechs Spezial Hell

Spezial Hell

Klosterbrauerei Andechs in Andechs, Bavaria, Germany 🇩🇪

Lager - Märzen / Festbier Regular
Score
6.53
ABV: 5.9% IBU: - Ticks: 190
Its clear gleaming look and firm, fine pored head goes hand in hand with its fresh and pure aroma. Malty nuances are the first impressions.

Spezial Hell is pleasantly tangy with a full, round malt body that cannot fail to fascinate. The soft flavour carries a distinctive balance of sweet accents and bitter hoppiness.

It concludes on equally soft malty nuances – a classical festival beer in the tradition of old Bavarian brewing (13.5% original extract and 5.9% alcohol by volume).

A maltier bolder version of the style. More like a bock, but tasty and full and complex graininess. Graeff hamburg (3.4 nov 2019) Top notch helles

Slight malt and toffee aroma. Full bodied, malty, earthy and hoppy beer with just a hint of licorice and blackcurrent. Some alcohol present.

Helder levendig lichtgeel bier met schuim. Smaak is licht bitter hoppig met iets van hooi en graan. Erg bitter voor een helles maar dan kan ik wel waarderen.

From bottle at Mommseneck-Am Potsdamer Platz, Berlin, 31.03.19. Shiningly clear pale straw colour. Persistent foamy white lacing. Excellent aroma and taste of succade and meadows. Fine and smooth bitterness. Very quaffable. Good aftertaste.

Bottle picked up from Edeka, Munich Airport, Bavaria, we're in our log cabin in Dachau, Bavaria, Germany. We're listening to Marc Riley on 6 Music, Monday 14th January 2018. We had chicken wrapped with prosciutto and stuffed with gorgonzola served with vegetables. Pours clear gold with a white head, clean tasting beer, soft in the mouth This is a malty beer but clearly one with a reasonable hoppy hit. I rather like this, the quality is very good and I am surprised it's not rated more highly. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov15. 3.7

Draft pour at Dominion Beer and Wine's upstairs restaurant. Poured a clear, light yellow-amber color with a small white head. Light sweet malty notes, with some mild caramel notes. Sweet malty character. Really pleasant!
