“This winter, H.K. Lovecraft is delighted to launch our seasonal style, BLACK WAVE (Baltic Porter), inspired by the traditional beer bordering the Baltic Sea. Using bottom fermentation process to create pure lager, while keeping the character of English Porter.”

Baltic Porter has a rich malty sweetness with a multi-layered blend of deep malt and roasted character. Dark brown in colour, very smooth with toffee and chocolate notes and hints of blueberry, roast coffee and a well-aged alcohol warmth bringing you a true indulgence of every sip in winter.

Can from Brewcraft at home. Dark cola brown nearly opaque with slight ruby hue at edges. Minimal sudsy white head. Aroma is fruitier than expected for Baltic porter - dried cherries and berries more than stone fruit, but some of that too. Christmas bread. Taste is more straightforward but not bad. Bitter start gives way to smooth dried dark fruit, some chewy bread, and alcohol warmth. Bready malt finish - like from some other Lovecraft beers. Palate is light and a bit slick. Not bad at all. Worth a try for sure.
