Full and rounded like an Indian new moon, this new breed is a modern twist on Indian Pale Ale. Jammed with fruity flavour and tantalising bitterness.

Cask at the white lady. Pours clear gold with a thick white head. Aromas of cooked lemon, light syrup. Taste is light bitter up front, with a sweet, honeyed finish.

Cask at the Prince Albert, Ely. Mid-gold, clear, a bit of tightish white head. The smell is floral and slightly medicinal, with a suggestion of whisky. Bittersweet taste, incredibly malty. Sweetish malty finish. Not a great beer really, but drinkable. It grew on me a little bit over the course of the pint, but I ordered a different beer for my second.

Bottle. Clear golden body with a thin white head. Steady carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of metal, tinned peach and grain. Flavour of watery grain, cigarette butts and a sour finish - horrible. Thin body with a watery texture. Fizzy carbonation. I never trust a sub 5.0% beer advertised as an IPA.

Bottle from Mouton Rouge Canterbury and drunk at home. Clear amber lasting off white head. Tastes a bit pasteurised, bit tired. Has some hops, but it’s all a bit empty. Not great.

500ml bottle. Pours clear and orange with a foamy head that quickly disappeared. Looks watery, but feels less so. Taste is ok but nothing exciting

50cl bottle thanks to Andrew. Appearance - golden amber with a decent head. Nose - initial wiff of butterscotch but then grass and citrus notes with some honey behind. Taste - biscuit and citrus malt and bitter herbs. Palate - light to medium bodied with a dry malty texture and a long bitter finish. Overall - a decent pale ale.
