This rich dark porter gives rise to a thick light brown head. The beer unfurls a sweet chocolate aroma hinting at dried fruit and coffee. The flavour is that of rich chocolate cake, which gradually gives way to the fruitiness of dried figs and the balanced bitterness of roasted malt.

Rótulo engraçado alusivo à art noveau na cidade de Riga. Groselha negra, passas, um pouco de café. Corpo algo leve. Talvez demasiado doce mas não é algo que importune e bebe-se bem.

Bottle from Craft Beer Station, Northampton. Aroma is malty (Horlicks ahoy), with a liquorice and berry dose. Yeast. Dark and glossy. Creamy foamy beige head. Develops a bald spot. Liquorice and coffee. Some bitterness but also has a sweetness to it. Tangy. Underlying yeast. Light-medium bodied. Relatively thin but lifted by stickiness and fizzy carbonation. Long somewhat astringent finish. I like.

33 cl bottle @ hotel room, Riga. BBE 23.12.2024 Aroma has licorice and ash. Also sweet malt. Flavour has sweet malt, some licorice and hints of coffee. Way too sweet in a wat Eastern European porters usually are. Drinkability is not that great.
