In 2021 we welcome Helles as a full-time addition to our core range. Gentle and balanced, Helles exemplifies everything we aim to achieve as lager brewers. Rolling hills, open fields and happy times with friends - a reminder there are good things ahead.

Helles uses the same pilsner malt blend as Keller Pils, and gently hopped with Magnum, Perle and Tettnang.

On tap at Ebenezers, Nantwich. Pours a hazy golden yellow with minimal almost white head and good lacing. Continental hops prominent in the aroma plus some hints of berry fruits. In the mouth it is sweet and malty with some continental hops and traces of grains and yeast. It’s reasonable – nothing outstanding.

Draft at Ninkaci, Eastbourne. Poured a slightly hazy yellow golden colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head and lots of bubbles. The aroma is yeasty and sweet malts. The flavour is moderate to light bitter, with a light, crisp, fresh, dry yeasty, mineral, earthy, herbal, light hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with lively carbonation.

Draught, shared with Finn at Grumpy Goat. Clear golden body, decent white head leaving dotted spots on the glass. Moderate smell of noble hops and grass. Balanced taste profile of noble hops and pale, cereal malts. Mid-dry ending. Clean on the swallow. Drinks well. Quite alright. (Reading, 01.10.2023).

On tap at Vine Street Tap, pours a clear blonde with a large white head. Aroma brings out fresh herbal hops, light grass and straw. Flavour is super clean, with straw, herbal hops, light grass and biscuity malt. Fresh, straw-like, and clean. Highly drinkable and well-made.

From can with Terje at the Airbnb flat near Cutty Sark in London 26.04.23. Hazy pale straw coloue. White head and lacing. Mostly yeast in aroma at first, but that soon changes to a fine aroma and taste of pilsner malt and grassy hops. Good and true to style!
