Pours dark mahogany into a snifter. Mocha head with little retention recedes to nothing. Dark caramel, vanilla and hot boozy aromas. Medium bodied with sweet pit fruit, dark chocolate and licorice upfront turning to earthy toasted brown bread in the hot, lasting finish.

12 oz. bottle thanks to tfontana on the share. 2024 vintage. Some roast with a decent amount of earthy coffee. Flavor is a composite of weak chocolate, roasted malt, and lightly roasted earthy coffee. Soft oak finish. I wouldn’t say that the alcohol is overwhelming, but it certainly is noticed.

Bottle (2024) from Julio's Liquors. Opaque dark brown with ring of head, nice viscosity, trace lacing. Aroma is strong coffee, oak, more of a nasal feeling of alcohol than any bourbon aroma. Taste is strong coffee--on the earthy side--, oak, very faint green pepper. Smooth, frothy texture, soft carbonation and earthy coffee finish as taste. Yeah, coffee, but barrel isn't a huge contributor. Meh.

Bottle shared by Kat S., 1/22/25. Thanks Kat! Dark brown, thin brown head, average retention. Aroma of strong coffee, roast. Taste is roast, chocolate, coffee. Well balanced. Coffee flavor is nice.

Bottle from Orange and Brew. Pours a thick black color wih a thin cola-type foam rung. Nose has equal strength of coffee and stoutn malts. Coffee runs the taste to start with, somewhat bitter, then a slightly syrupy malt to coat the tongue. Hints of oak, tannins and some cocoa and vanilla.

$7.99 single from the Brew Shop in Arlington. Short pour into a pint glass at home. Matte black pour with a medium-thin cocoa head. Sweet & astringent coffee nose, faint smoke with a sharp bourbon underbelly. Dense coffee & dark cocoa upfront, bittersweet chocolate cookie with a toasty marshmallow middle, middle to end is all warm to hot bourbon flavor. Dry & itchy malt on the tail. Lux mouthfeel, low carb, boozy. Good but not great. Too straight forward & hot.

Bottle. Black beer with a light brown head. Caramel and chocolate aroma. Coffee and caramel flavor with toffee. Fuller bodied. Coffee and toffee linger with caramel and light bourbon.
