Amber color with small white head that disappears quickly. Aroma is malty, spicy, honey, some bubblegum. Quite tangy. Taste is earthy, malty, spicy, also with honey and bubblegum, grainy as well. Quite pleasant. Something is weird in here, but it works. Quite a big-bubbled carbonation paired with a silky mouthfeel and good chewiness. A bit confusing.

750 ml. Deep amber body. Big, frothy cream head, mostly lasting. Aroma of honey, poplar veneer, chestnut, caramel, clover. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body, watery/creamy texture, lively carbonation. For as sweet as this starts out (with tastes of strawberry, alcohol, chestnut, honey), the sweetness falls off in the finish. Raw honey dominates the taste and combined with some hop bitterness, it produces a raw floral, earthy, wood veneer taste that came across as an off-flavor. Interesting and different, but not necessarily satisfying.

Draught at the brewpub, Doppelbock with honey
Dark brown color; compact head; it’s nicely served in a wine glass. Pleasant aroma, of honey and alcohol; very light smoke. Good body strength, malt flavor, quite sweet, caramel, chestnut honey. Strong ending bitterness. The alcohol warms the mouth. The only negative points: too cold, and a bit metallic mouthfeel in the end. Very good.
