Deep, dark brown with a creamy/frothy tan head and a milk chocolate aroma. Dry and bitter, smooth and semi-creamy, there’s chocolate, some coffee perhaps, with dark fruit and roasted malt sitting underneath, and a dry bitter finish

Cask at the golden eagle. Deep chocolate brown colour with a deep tan head. Aroma and taste are sweet coffee and chocolate slight roasted bitterness. Light slightly thin body.

Half-pint, cask, shared with Finn at Maypole. Decent fawn-coloured head over a jet black body, fragile lacing. Roasted malty aromas, mid-sweet chocolate scent. Malt-driven taste of dark dough and chocolate malts, lactose behind. Prolonged sweet chocolate ending. Medium bodied. Nice, a tad too sweet though. (Cambridge 14.11.2021).
