Rusty’s famous namesake was from a young boy who worked at Poet’s Corner Pub where the brewery was originally created. He had bright red locks similar to the colour of the beer itself, and on his birthday a beer was specially brewed and thus, Rusty was born. It’s 4.2% ABV makes for a great hearty drink.

Cask at the Tiny Tavern, Lincoln. The look of a proper old Bitter, not a golden beer trying to be a bitter. Deep amber golden colour with an off white head. Aroma and taste are malty caramel sweet to light bitter. Nice classic.

1/3 pint, cask at BeerHeadZ. Covering beige head, clear copper coloured body, dotted spots on the glassware. Smell of earthy malts and biscuit. Blended taste of toffee, dough, and biscuit. Ends rather dry and bittersweet. Satisfying (Grantham 13.11.2021).

500ml Bottle - Dark copper with a foamy head. Raisins, caramel, dates and berries in the aroma. Fruity and malty taste with cherries, berries, plums and raisins detected.

Cask at Alexandra, Derby Nose is nutty and malty – walnuts maybe. Pours a rich reddish brown with a small white head. The nuttiness continues in the mouth where it is joined by fruity notes, strawberries and maple syrup. There are hops in there as well, but they don’t dominate. Finish has a malty sharpness, alongside raspberries. Quite nice overall.
