Oude is a very special blend of wild ales aged for 1 up to 4 years. Over 1/3 of the total blend is aged in oak puncheons (500l) for 4 years. We’ve never used such an old beer in our blends so far. This gives the final beer a characterful and complex taste. Another 50% is a younger beer of 1 years old which adds freshness, herbal and floral qualities to the blend. The remaining part of the blend is a 2 year old beer that acts as a bridge between the old and young.

Dolle 40 years and 20k bash. Hazy orange with a disappearing white head. Funky aroma with wood and apricot. Sweetish and tart fruity flavour with strong cellar character.

Good, slightly yellowish tinted white head over copperish golden beer. Dried apricot on lambic, apricot liqueur, faint fresh green herbs. Again dried apricot, faint caramelized fruit, some uindentifyable light-herbal liqueur, bread with inclusions, very slightly tartness. Slighly oily, feels spritzy despite rather dead looks, alcoholwarmth (for a 6.7% beer!). Yet another excellent TSj!

750ml bottle from Alpha Bottleshop and split at Brewdog Bristol bottleshare. Pours light hazed amber with a white head. Aroma: bread, peach, apricot, apple, funk. Taste: moderate tartness, citrus, sour apple, gooseberry, oak, ripe fruits, spices. Medium body with light-ish carbonation. Tidy flavours for one so young.

Bottle shared at Moor Beer Vaults - Bermondsey. Pours slightly hazed orange-gold with a small, creamy white head. Lightly sweet with soft acidity, a little tangerine, melon, light grass. Light to medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Light warmth in the finish, a little acidity, mellow citric notes. Highly drinkable.

29/VII/21 - 75cl bottle @ ElManana’s place, BB: 19/XII/30 (bottle date +10Y) (2021-695) Thanks to Erwin for sharing the bottle!
Little cloudy orange beer, small creamy off-white head, unstable, falls down quickly, non adhesive. Aroma: spicy, funky, lots of brett notes, peppery, oxidized, fruity, stone fruit, wood notes, buttery touch, dusty impression. MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: very acidic, lemony, hint of vinegar, fruity notes, bitter, quite some tannins, acidic burn in the throat. Aftertaste: orange peel, fruity, nice acidity, oxidized, peppery, sweet touch.
