What is Bouncy House? It’s the next step in our quest to brew the perfect low-alcohol, high-flavor, hoppy American ale. We learned a few things from brewing ParadoX earlier this year, like lowering the alcohol content and avoiding the terms "session" and "IPA." When you taste Bouncy House, you’ll taste a modest malt bill of North American 2-row, British pale ale malt, C-60 and Aromatic malt mashed for a refreshingly light body that leaves plenty of spotlight for a melange of Warrior, Calypso, El Dorado and Citra hops.

Pours hazy gold into a tulip. Bright white head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Grapefruit and resin aromas. Dry with bitter earth and dough upfront turning to grapefruit pith in the lasting finish.

Grass and lilly aroma. Clear amber, thin head. Flavor is rosehips and lillies. Medium body, somewhat resinous. More floral than expected, but nice.

Bottle at home in Salisbury - picked up at De Cicco, Armonk. Pours perfectly clear, honey-gold with a creamy, white head. Good, clean aroma with pithy citrus, dry pale malts, hay, tangerine. Light sweet flavor with bitter citrus rind, some dry pale bread, grass, more pith, grapefruit. Light bodied with average carbonation. Crisp and dry to finish with lingering grass and rind bitterness, more rind, understated dry bready sweetness. Quite dry overall with a lingering bitter edge. Good stuff.

Draft pour at SAVOR - more than 2 ounces because the night was drawing to a close. Poured a clear golden color with a small white head. Aroma was light malts but nice, light citrus notes. Nothing overpowering, very nicely balanced. Very sessionable, though it doesn’t seem like it. Crisp and refreshing. Liked!

Draft at Deep Ellum, Alston, MA. Hop heads should really enjoy this, hopped to the max. Clear gold color with quickly dissipating white head. Nose is both citrus and pine hops coexisting well together. The flavor is little malt with a hop blast. Flavor has a progressive bitterness that stacks up after several sips. Body is light and carbonation ample. Overall this Does not make me want to jump up and down. One dimension only with this brew. But if you want a super hopped up APA at a low ABV level, this makes a nice go to. Decent.

Pours a mostly clear dirty golden color with a smallish white head that shows moderate retention and minimal lace. Aromas of minty, pine, citrus and a hint of stone and tropical fruits with a barely perceptible bready malt base. The flavor showcases more of the bready crackery malt. Hints of pepper underneath pine, lemon, and citrusy hop flavor. Moderate level of hop bitterness. Light to medium light body with an ample amount of carbonation and a slick resinous mouthfeel. Great session able ale, for my taste could use just a hint more malt, but I’m happy to drink as is. And thank you for not raping me with an insane price point Smutty.
