What is Bouncy House? It’s the next step in our quest to brew the perfect low-alcohol, high-flavor, hoppy American ale. We learned a few things from brewing ParadoX earlier this year, like lowering the alcohol content and avoiding the terms "session" and "IPA." When you taste Bouncy House, you’ll taste a modest malt bill of North American 2-row, British pale ale malt, C-60 and Aromatic malt mashed for a refreshingly light body that leaves plenty of spotlight for a melange of Warrior, Calypso, El Dorado and Citra hops.

Lightly hazy gold beer, small white head. Palate is light, dry and crisp. Thin dry malt cream. Mellow hops bitterness and a litte dry citrus. Dry finish. Light bitter linger. Passable but disappointing from Smuttynose.

Bottle at Craig’s. Pours hazy golden, nose is light floral, citrus, taste is dry, quite bitter, floral, toffee.

355ml bottle from Appellation Wines - Cheers Ash! Pours hazy pale golden, thin white head. Aromas have light funk, floral notes, light resin. Taste brings lemon citrus, more funky resin. Thin and too bitter for me at the end. OK.

355ml bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - golden with a slight haze and a decent haze. Nose - meadow flowers and some lemon/grapefruit zest with a touch of funk but not much. Taste - there’s a slight fresh sweat thing going on. Generally it’s lemon peel but something more sweaty too. Palate - close to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry bitter finish. Overall - verging on a bit too bitter for me, but enjoyable all the same.

At the bodega: Pours golden, clear, with white head. Aroma is grapefruit, orange, flowers, and the tiniest bit of malts. Taste is bitter, very dry, and full of hops. Obviously the malt backbone is very much subdued. Very easy to drink, but never skimps on flavor.

Bottle. Orange malt and orange peel aroma. Golden yellow with large white head. Mildly sweet tangerine malt and moderately bitter orange peel flavor. Very nice - easy drinking beer.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy dark golden color with a huge creamy orange-white head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was dryish and tart with notes of lemon, grapefruit and orange. The flavor was very bitter, bone dry and very tart with notes of lemon, chalk and Windex. Exceptionally long finish. Medium body. Not good.

Not sure what to think when I see these SN labels. Sediment laden bottom. Cloudy ipa with a big nasty nellie mouth coating oily rude rototillerness of an attitude. Terribly on style, long bitter finish. Could pass as a double IPA, no lie.

Pours hazy gold into a tulip. Bright white head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Grapefruit and resin aromas. Dry with bitter earth and dough upfront turning to grapefruit pith in the lasting finish.
