What is Bouncy House? It’s the next step in our quest to brew the perfect low-alcohol, high-flavor, hoppy American ale. We learned a few things from brewing ParadoX earlier this year, like lowering the alcohol content and avoiding the terms "session" and "IPA." When you taste Bouncy House, you’ll taste a modest malt bill of North American 2-row, British pale ale malt, C-60 and Aromatic malt mashed for a refreshingly light body that leaves plenty of spotlight for a melange of Warrior, Calypso, El Dorado and Citra hops.

Bottle. Nose is muted, slight citrus, grain, touch of pine. Taste is light pine, citrus, malt, slight cereal. It’s a refreshing English style IPA from the new world. Decent.

Hazy gold body that makes a generous, sticky, mostly white head. Fruity, lemon and fresh grass aroma. The flavor is moderately bitter with a dry finish. Easy drinking hoppy. Better than many.

At GBBF 2014. Hazy gold. Mango. Bit ascetic. But lots of tropical fruit. Not much condition. Fruity. Not much bitterness. Good tropical fruit

Bottle from Cornelius. Hazy golden body with tiny yeast flecks floating around. Thin white head. Steady carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of biscuit and tinned vegetable soup. Flavour of carrots and a hint of orange. Thin body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Soft fizz. Not great - strangely vegetal. This bottle was 4.3% ABV.

A golden IPA with a thin off white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with smooth floral hops, clover field, nice. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with piney resinous hops, grapefruit pulp, classic and pleasant. On tap at Bacon and beer Classic.

Bottle from StarmoreBoss, Sheffield. Hazy gold. Film and a few white bubbles for a head. Appealing, juicy orange hop aroma, with a little, malty fustiness. Taste is flint dry, with a slightly harsh, metallic bitter edge. Decent body. Finish is lengthy, light bitter. Found this a bit dry. Still decent, though.

12oz bottle. Unfiltered orange-tan body. Creamy, glass lacing head. Nice depth in the hops, from strawy dryness to grapefruit, melon. Has a nice full taste, avoids any simplistic watery characteristics found in other versions of the style. Really solid example of the style, boldly hopped, clean, easy malt backdrop. I’d go back for more of this. Well done.
