Klosterbrauerei Andechs in Andechs, Bavaria, Germany 🇩🇪

Lager - Dunkel / Tmavý Regular
Score
6.81
ABV: 4.9% IBU: - Ticks: 126
Characterised by its firm and fine pored head. Even before the first sip, the beer epicure will register the soft aromas of dark malt carrying caramel and cocoa accents with a nuance of smokiness.

Andechser Export Dunkel is pleasantly tangy with a full, round, malty body. The nuance of quality plain chocolate marries well with the soft bitterness of the smoky undertone.

It concludes on a mild, harmonious note (12.5% original extract and 4.9% alcohol by volume).

Taste is medium sweet malt, Munich, some caramel, toffee, toasted bread, light herbal bitterness, sweetish finish. Medium- bodied, soft carbonation, oily. Very nice Dunkel!

Dark brown with a hint of red. Quickly vanishing light brown head. Nuts, roast, and some alcohol warmth. However quite watery body. Didn’t enjoy it that much.

Pours reddish brown into the bottle with a decent crown that fairly rapidly dissipates. Aroma is caramel malt. Taste reminds strongly of a traditional altbier: malty, lightly sweet, hints of toffee, and with very little bitterness. However there is also a lightly smoky undertone, and dominant is a sourness that is not unfairly characterized as rotting apple. Just a touch above being light bodied. Decent.

Beautiful Amber color with tan head. Aroma is dark malts, caramel, schwarzbrot, not so much rusty nails. Taste is full-bodied malts, more schwarzbrot. Pleasant mouthfeel, quite dry. Slightly metallic finish, but not bothering at all. An excellent Dunkel!

Pours a dark coppery brown color, topped with a fair beige colored head. Pleasant malty aroma with notes of roastiness and caramel. Taste is sweet at start, followed by likewise roastiness and caramel, light bitterness in the finish. A nice one.

BOTTLE 50 CL. Clear chestnut brown, beige creamy head. Malty and caramel aroma, some spicy hops too. The flavour is similar, with a light to medium clean body. Clean and simple, but too boring.

500ml Bottle - Copper red in colour. Raisins, malt and caramel in the aroma. Brown sugar, nuts, raisins, toffee and some slightly roasted notes feature in the taste. A tasty dunkel.
